  • District Men's Meeting Dates

    District Meetings for UMM for 2010 are as follows at Wright's Chapel UMC at 7:30 pm on the following Mondays and should be over by 9 pm, they are:
    Jan. 4, 2010, Feb. 1, 2010, March 1, 2010, April 5, 2010,
    May 3, 2010, June 7, 2010, July 5, 2010, August 2, 2010,
    Sept. 6, 2010, October 4, 2010, Nov. 1, 2010, Dec. 6, 2010. 

  • Calendar of Events

    January 9, 2010, District Leadership training day at Ebeezer UMC, in Stafford, Va.
    February 18-20, 2010, Cancelled (see below article)
    March 20, 2010, possible mini retreat or workday at Westview on The James.
    March 27, 2010, Conference UMM Training Day at Discovery UMC in Short Pump.
    April 24, 2010, Canoe and Kayak Trip.
    May 7, 2010, Ashland District Golf Outing to benefit one or more of the following: Heart havens, All God's Children Camp, Camp Rainbow, or Westview on the James.
    June 15, 2010, Va. Conference UMM's Breakfast at Epworth UMC @6:30am, cost $10.00 each.
    July 15, 2010, Camp Rainbow at Blackstone, cookout and dance, this is UMM day at Camp Rainbow.
    July26-August 4, 2010, Scout Jamboree at A.P. Hill, we hosting a meal for all the Scout Chaplain's at Wright's Chapel sometime during this period, That date will be annouced at later date once it is confirmed with Bill Chaffin our District Scout Leader.
    August 12, 2010, Camp Rainbow at Blackstone, cookout and dance, this UMM day at Camp Rainbow.
    September 18, 2010, 1st Annual Ashland District Horseshoe Tournament, fund raiser to help with Scholarships to Va. Conference UMM Retreat at Blackstone and cost for doing Installation of District Officers Breakfast in October.
    October 9, 2010, Installation of New District Officers and Breakfast at Wright's Chapel UMC 8am-11:30am.
    November 5-7, 2010, Va. Conference UMM Annual Retreat at VUMAC in Blackstone.

  • Westview-on-the-James

    02/10/10

    To All Ashland District UMM,

        Due in part to the weather and also that there have been some changes to what we need to due to Lakeside Lodge. We will be cancelling these workdays(Feb.18-20,2010) at Westview. We will be looking at doing the repair of roof and a 16 ft extension to the lodge all at one time. The Westview Board will be voting and talking about how this larger project will be funded.

    Once everything has been approved and funded I will setup new workdays to do the larger project.

        So I ask each of you to pray for Westview as we move forward to go out and make disciples and share God's Word with all we come in contact with here on earth.

All local church UMM Officers are invited to attend along with their Pastor's, also any church that doesn't have a Mens Group we invite any men to attend so we can get you involved with other men in the District and your local area, don't miss out on great Christain Fellowship with other men.
